B.J. Cordova, MBA, Executive Director
B.J. previously worked as the membership and communications director for a nonprofit organization, serving the Tucson/Pima County metro area in various roles for more than 15 years before joining Arizona Transportation Builders Association as the Executive Director. B.J. has been with the association since March 2018 and is excited to serve our members and the region through this new role! His previous role interfaced regularly with local government agencies, the business community, other nonprofit organizations and community leaders, and he enjoys collaborating across sectors. B.J. is excited to serve the organization’s current members and partner agencies in administering ATB programs and providing outreach on the group’s behalf, along with getting to know potential future members that could share in the mutual benefits of a growing ATB membership.
B.J. is a fifth-generation Arizona native, growing up in central Phoenix where he was fascinated by the constant freeway construction. He moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona where he met his wife, a native Tucsonan. They have two children. He completed undergraduate degrees in both Environmental Science and Spanish, and more recently completed the Eller MBA program. GO CATS! B.J. is very active in the community, volunteering for a variety of area school and community projects. He serves as education chair for Southern Arizona Environmental Management Society, is a past Tucson Sunset Rotary club president and continues to be a member of Tucson Sunrise Rotary. He also previously served as chair of the City of Tucson Pedestrian Advisory Committee. In his free time, he likes to travel to explore a variety of urban and natural destinations.
Yvette M. Pederson, Executive Assistant
Yvette previously worked as an office assistant for a local civil engineering company before joining Arizona Transportation Builders Association as the Executive Assistant. Yvette has been with the Association for 6+ years and is working full-time with us. Yvette is very energetic individual who excels in custom service and administration support, assisting contractor and other members. Yvette primarily focuses her time on the six major events per year with the association. She also serves the Associates Committee and Safety Committee, along with ATB’s partners in our Scholarship Foundation.
Yvette is a Tucson native, graduated from Tucson High Magnet School, and also attended Pima Community College. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two beautiful children. Yvette is very active in the community. She volunteers at the local Little League and at her children’s elementary school. She also participates on a Committee for an inner city soccer league. Along with the coordination of the coaching staff, she helps organize fundraiser to help less fortunate families in the league with soccer equipment and the committee adopts area families during the holidays to provide Christmas trees, clothes, and toys. In her free time, you will always find a book in her hands.
