B.J. Cordova, MBA, Executive Director
B.J. previously worked as the membership and communications director for a nonprofit organization, serving the Tucson/Pima County metro area in various roles for more than 15 years before joining Arizona Transportation Builders Association as the Executive Director. B.J. has been with the association since March 2018 and is excited to serve our members and the region through this new role! His previous role interfaced regularly with local government agencies, the business community, other nonprofit organizations and community leaders, and he enjoys collaborating across sectors. B.J. is excited to serve the organization’s current members and partner agencies in administering ATB programs and providing outreach on the group’s behalf, along with getting to know potential future members that could share in the mutual benefits of a growing ATB membership.
B.J. is a fifth-generation Arizona native, growing up in central Phoenix where he was fascinated by the constant freeway construction. He moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona where he met his wife, a native Tucsonan. They have two children. He completed undergraduate degrees in both Environmental Science and Spanish, and more recently completed the Eller MBA program. GO CATS! B.J. is very active in the community, volunteering for a variety of area school and community projects. He serves as education chair for Southern Arizona Environmental Management Society, is a past Tucson Sunset Rotary club president and continues to be a member of Tucson Sunrise Rotary. He also previously served as chair of the City of Tucson Pedestrian Advisory Committee. In his free time, he likes to travel to explore a variety of urban and natural destinations.
Lexi Saavedra, Member Services Coordinator
Lexi previously worked as a program operations assistant for a local workforce development nonprofit, before joining Arizona Transportation Builders Association as the Member Services Coordinator. Lexi is a recent University of Arizona graduate, and now works full-time on behalf of ATB. Lexi is a very energetic and friendly individual who excels in customer service and administrative support, assisting contractor and other members through ATB programs. Lexi primarily focuses her time on major events and meetings supporting the association’s members throughout the year. She also serves the Associates Committee and Safety Committee, along with ATB’s partners in our Scholarship Foundation.
Lexi is a Tucson native, graduated from Sabino High School. She is very active in the community including at her church, a women’s shelter, and spends a lot of time with her family including her “fur baby”. She is a U of A sports fan including baseball, and also enjoys watching movies.
