On June 5, Governor Ducey signed an emergency declaration to address the opioid drug related deaths. The Arizona Department of Health Services illustrated that in 2016, 790 deaths were related to opioid drugs. The declaration allows the state to work with local and private partners to utilize all public health services to assist in preventing overdoeses. The issue has a direct impact to our industry, as many members have strict drug related policies. Finding the next employees are at high premium already and we have heard the difficulties in finding them. If you have, an issue related to opioid drug employees, ATB wants to know about it. We can gather any information and help share with the Governor’s office and the Health Services department.
