2021 Event Going Virtual
It is continuing to be a difficult time to be planning or managing large, in-person events. In 2020, the Southern Arizona Construction Career Days Board of Directors (SACCD) canceled the event due to the pandemic. The COVID-19 virus has made canceling or delaying gatherings, seminars, conferences, and trade shows of any size essential. Digital alternatives do not replicate the in-person experience, despite innovative technologies and approaches. SACCD has relied on our events to support the construction and education community that has generated a demand. “But what do you do when meeting face to face simply is not an option?” asks Founder and current President Ramon Gaanderse. The SACCD Board of Directors has decided to turn to digital delivery for 2021 — mainly because hosting an event at any City or County facility is unknown. In addition to the ideas, advice, and examples our community organizations and colleagues have shared, Ramon expressed that “simply doing nothing for our future workforce is not an option.” The Board of Directors and event coordinators will brainstorm the best platform and avenue to share construction expertise and information to Southern Arizona schools. The event will occur in the first week of November 2021, but there is no other information available since it is in the early planning stages. You can remain informed by following our website at www.saccd.org, downloading the mobile app (“SACCD), and social media. |
